Marcel Koller: My Experience with Al Ahly is a Completely Different World
Marcel Koller, the former coach of Al-Ahly, spoke about his experience with the Reds, describing it as a completely "different" world.
Marcel Koller said in statements to Swiss media: "When we talk about my experience with Al Ahly in Egypt, it is a different world, it's completely different... and from a football perspective, there is also a lot of pressure."
The Swiss coach added: "The pressure is always there, especially when you lose. I would return to the hotel after a loss, and everyone would be talking about it. Then people immediately start looking forward to the next match and expect you to be able to return to winning again."
He continued: "The situation is not like war... Certainly, there is respect for the situation and perhaps some concern or fear and wondering about what might happen, but I also realized that sometimes it's important to return to myself a little, take care of myself, and detach my mind from everything."
"I often did that after intense periods of work or after the tasks I was assigned, so I wouldn't move directly to the next task. Instead, I would wait a little and recharge my energy."
He continued: "It is very exhausting when you are involved in it daily and under constant pressure. Everyone wants to win, everyone wants to succeed, but in the end, there can only be one winner, while others do not achieve that. Therefore, it is important to step back a little and recharge your energy."
