Huge Salary and Foreign Device.. Amotta Begins His Mission with Al-Ahly
The Egyptian club Al Ahly has resolved the issue of the head coach for the first football team by officially announcing the appointment of Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta as the head coach for two seasons. He replaces Danish coach Jess Thorup, who left his position after a disappointing season in which the team failed to achieve its desired goals.
The decision to contract with Amotta came as part of the plan to restructure the football sector at the club, following the results recorded by the team during the last season, which ended with the loss of various championships it competed for, except for the Egyptian Super Cup title.
Reports have revealed details about the new coaching staff, indicating that Ammouta will lead an entirely foreign technical team, consisting of four assistants from outside Egypt. This is part of the management's vision to prepare the team for a new phase aimed at regaining balance and competing for titles.
According to reports, the Moroccan coach and his assistant staff will receive a monthly salary of up to $145,000, under a contract that includes a set of technical objectives related to improving the team's performance and building a group capable of strong competition in the coming seasons.
Al Ahly confirmed in an official statement that the board of directors, chaired by Mahmoud El Khatib, approved during its last meeting the proposals related to restructuring the football sector. These proposals were submitted by Yassin Mansour, the club's vice president, and Sayed Abdel Hafiz, a board member tasked with the football portfolio, before approving the appointment of Hussein Amotta as the head coach of the first team for two seasons.
Al-Ahly officials hope that signing Amotta will mark a new starting point for the team after a season that witnessed many failures, by rebuilding the squad and correcting the course in preparation for upcoming local and continental commitments.
