Officially: Lille Announces Signing of Davide Ancelotti

The French club Lille officially announced the signing of Italian coach Davide Ancelotti to lead the first team with a two-year contract. This marks his first experience as a head coach in European football after spending many years as part of the coaching staff for some of the world's biggest clubs and national teams.

Davide Ancelotti is 36 years old and began his coaching career early. He earned an outstanding university degree and continued to develop himself in the coaching field until he became one of the most prominent technical assistants in European football.

Davide worked alongside his father, Carlo Ancelotti, at several notable stops, starting with Paris Saint-Germain, then Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Everton, before returning to Real Madrid again, where he contributed to winning numerous titles, most notably two UEFA Champions League titles in 2022 and 2024.

Davide had his first experience as a head coach in 2025 when he took charge of the Brazilian team Botafogo, leading them to sixth place in the Brazilian league and qualifying for the Copa Libertadores, before returning to work with the Brazilian national team's coaching staff in preparation for the 2026 World Cup.

For his part, Lille club president Olivier Létang expressed his happiness with the signing of the Italian coach, affirming that he possesses all the qualities of a modern coach and has significant experience despite his young age, in addition to his leadership personality and ability to develop young players.

In turn, Davide said after signing the contract: "I am very proud and extremely happy with this opportunity, and I thank the club president for his trust. I found a sports project that aligns with my ideas and values, and Lille is an ambitious and competitive club that is consistently present on the European stage, so it is an honor for me to represent it today."
