Doping Tests for 12 Players from the Moroccan National Team

Saturday 30-05-2026
The Moroccan national football team is anticipating an expected visit from officials of the International Anti-Doping Agency before traveling to the United States to participate in the 2026 World Cup. This is part of the regulatory measures applied to all teams participating in the tournament.

The newspaper "Al-Sabah" revealed that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) informed the "Atlas Lions" delegation that 12 players would undergo doping tests, which will be conducted at the Mohammed VI Football Complex. These tests will be carried out randomly according to the adopted system, where players are selected without prior notice.

According to the same details, any player selected for testing will be required to attend immediately upon being summoned, with the Moroccan delegation needing to accurately declare the location of the concerned players to ensure the full implementation of organizational procedures.

The same sources indicated that the specialized committee had conducted similar visits to other teams, including Egypt and Tunisia in recent days, with the current tour set to include several delegations participating in the World Cup, including the Algerian team, before reaching Morocco later this week.

In the same context, FIFA emphasized the necessity for national associations to send the complete medical files of players in order to subject them to examination and scrutiny, ensuring the players' health and the absence of any health indicators that might affect their readiness.

The reports also indicated that players from the Moroccan national team will undergo doping tests after each match during the World Cup finals, according to the medical protocol adopted in major tournaments, as part of enhancing standards of integrity and medical oversight.

These measures come as part of the final preparations before the World Cup, where the organizing bodies aim to ensure the highest levels of transparency and medical safety for all participants in the tournament.
