Manchester United Spends Huge Amount on Italian League Players

Football Italia reported that Manchester United has spent more than 600 million euros to sign players from the Italian league over the last 10 seasons, with Atalanta midfielder Ederson close to becoming the 11th signing from Serie A to Old Trafford.

Ederson is close to joining Manchester United in a permanent deal valued at around 50 million euros including add-ons, becoming the third player to move from Atalanta to the English club after Rasmus Hojlund and Amad Diallo.

Paul Pogba is the most significant signing for Manchester United from the Italian league since the 2015/2016 season, having returned to the club in 2016 from Juventus for 105 million euros, 10 years ago.

The year 2021 also saw Cristiano Ronaldo return to Manchester United from Juventus in a deal worth 17 million euros.

The latest transfer from the Italian league to Manchester United was defender Patrick Dorjo, who joined from Lecce in the winter transfer window of 2025 for 30 million euros.
