Nasri Withdraws from Champions League Final Coverage After Abuse from Paris Fans

The Frenchman Samir Nasri decided to withdraw from his role as a technical analyst for the UEFA Champions League final, which will be between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on Saturday evening, despite the French channel Canal+ previously announcing his participation in the coverage team.

Nasri's decision came after he was subjected to abuse from Paris Saint-Germain fans during the team's match against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. The former player explained that he was accustomed to hostile chants due to his previous stint with Marseille, but he emphasized that some crossing the line by insulting his mother was what deeply upset him.

Nasri told the French newspaper L'Équipe: "Insults are part of the game for any former Marseille player, but what really bothered me was the abuse directed at my mother. However, that's not the reason I didn't go to Budapest." He added that having Robert Pires, an Arsenal fan, and David Ginola, known for his support of Paris Saint-Germain, would be better than having him as a 'neutral' analyst, as he described it.

Nasri also has a tense relationship with Arsenal fans since his controversial departure to Manchester City in 2011, a move he justified at the time by his desire to win titles, asserting that his transfer was not motivated by money but by the pursuit of championships that he failed to secure during his time with the London club.
