Paris Saint-Germain Returns to Budapest in Search of a New European Title

Paris Saint-Germain returns to the Hungarian capital, Budapest, to play the 2026 UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal, relying on a positive record in its previous matches on Hungarian soil.

The official website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) noted that Paris Saint-Germain played three matches in Hungary, including two in the capital, Budapest. Their first match there was in 1984, when they lost 1-0 to Videoton in the city of Székesfehérvár as part of the UEFA Cup competition, in a tournament where the Hungarian team reached the European final.

The report added that Paris achieved its first victory in Budapest during the UEFA Champions League in 1994, after winning 2-1 against Vác at the Váci Út stadium, thanks to two goals by Patrick Mboma.

The French team also succeeded in securing another victory in the Hungarian capital in 2002, after defeating Újpest 1-0 in the UEFA Cup with a goal scored by Slim Ben Achour.

Paris Saint-Germain hopes to continue its good results in Budapest when it faces Arsenal in the European final, aiming to win the UEFA Champions League title for the second consecutive season.
