Al-Wensh: My Extended Journey with Zamalek and the National Team is an Honor Beyond Honor
Mahmoud Hamdy El-Wensh, the star of Zamalek, posted an emotional message on his Facebook page, expressing his great pride in his journey with Zamalek.
El-Wensh said: "It is an unparalleled honor... Praise be to God always and forever... Praise be to God who honored me, and thanks to Him, then to Zamalek Club and its great fans... Today, I stand with my name recorded in the history of this great entity as the defender with the most championships in the club's history (14 championships), an honor that equals that of great and historic stars from whom we always learn (Captain Medhat Abdel Hady and Captain Bashir El-Tabie)."
He added: "If it weren't for God's grace, then the favor of Zamalek Club and the support of its fans, I wouldn't have achieved this honorable international career. Without Zamalek, I wouldn't have participated with my national team in 35 international matches wearing the Egypt jersey, nor would I have participated in two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, the 2018 World Cup, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and the Arab Cup in 2020 and 2025, in addition to the honor of representing the military team in Oman."
El-Wensh concluded: "Thank you to the great Zamalek fans, the first and last support. And thank you to this great entity that makes history and builds men. Praise be to God."
