Barcelona has begun the search for a new striker as the end of the Polish star Robert Lewandowski's journey with the team approaches, due to the need for a player capable of compensating for the significant scoring power that the club has lost with his departure.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' indicated that Lewandowski bid farewell to Barcelona fans after the win against Real Betis, while the match against Valencia in the final round of the Spanish League will be his last game in the Catalan team's jersey.

Coach Hans Flick confirmed that Barcelona needs a striker who fits the team's playing style, but he also emphasized that the ability to score goals remains the most important factor in choosing the new striker.

Barcelona faces a tough task in compensating for Lewandowski's numbers, after the Polish striker scored 119 goals in 192 matches with the team over four seasons at Spotify Camp Nou.

Lewandowski scored 33 goals in the 2022/2023 season, then 26 goals in the 2023/2024 season, before delivering his best scoring season with 42 goals in the 2024/2025 season, while he settled for 18 goals in his last season 2025/2026.

The numbers illustrate the expected impact after the Polish striker's departure, as his average goals with Barcelona reached about 30 goals per season, specifically 29.75 goals.

Lewandowski also scored a goal every 119 minutes in his first season, then a goal every 146 minutes in the second season, before achieving his best rate with a goal every 93 minutes in the third season, while he scored a goal every 133 minutes in his last season.

As for the average goals per match, it reached 0.71 in his first season, 0.53 in the second season, 0.82 in the third season, while it was 0.45 in the last season.

The same source mentioned that the duo Joao Pedro from Chelsea and Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid are among the names proposed to replace Lewandowski.

Both Joao Pedro and Julian Alvarez scored 20 goals in 49 matches, with an average of 0.47 goals per match, while Joao Pedro scores a goal every 180 minutes, compared to a goal every 177 minutes for Julian Alvarez.
