McFarlane: We Got a Good Point, and I Was Happy About It
Callum McFarlane, Chelsea's interim coach, spoke to the press following the 1-1 draw against Liverpool in the 36th round of the English Premier League, at Anfield.
The coach said in his statement: 'It's a good point, we performed well in a match that could have ended in a win for either team. It was frustrating to concede an early goal, and we will review this matter.'
He added: 'I was happy with the reaction. I think the reaction was great, and I knew we were capable of achieving the win.'
He continued: 'I think we performed very well and finished the first half excellently. Overall, the effort, commitment, work rate, and desire to win were good.'
He emphasized: 'The loss last Monday at home to Nottingham Forest was disappointing. We reviewed the match and talked about the reaction we hoped for. I felt we achieved that, and it's something we can build on.'
He concluded about Levi Colwill: 'Levi was the best player on the field. He was a leader. This was his first full match (90 minutes) in a long time.'
