Chelsea Considers Liverpool Star as an Option if Enzo Fernandez Departs

Chelsea is considering signing the German Florian Wirtz, a player from Liverpool, if the Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez leaves during the summer transfer window.

The "CaughtOffside" website, citing "Football Insider," indicated that Wirtz is one of the names proposed to replace Fernandez, amid increasing interest in the Argentine international's services from Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old German player joined Liverpool last summer and previously worked under Xabi Alonso during his time at Bayer Leverkusen, making him a favored option for the Spanish coach.

Despite Chelsea's interest, signing Wirtz appears to be complicated, as he is tied to a long-term contract with Liverpool, which invested £115 million to acquire him and considers him a key element in their future project to compete for titles.

On the other hand, Enzo Fernandez continues to attract the interest of Real Madrid, with the report indicating that the potential deal could reach £120 million, after having an outstanding season with Chelsea and contributing to 22 goals, making his potential departure a significant blow to the London team.
