Saturday 09-05-2026
Wesley Fofana, Chelsea defender, spoke in a press interview following the 1-1 draw against Liverpool in the 36th round of the English Premier League, at Anfield.

When asked if he touched the ball before it went into the net, he said: 'I think it's my goal. Everyone told me that I touched the ball. I don't know if I actually touched it, but whether the goal is mine or Enzo [Fernandez]'s, I'm happy because it was an important goal.'

He added: 'Honestly, I didn't feel like I touched the ball, but everyone said they saw in the replay that I did, so I think I touched it. It was a great shot by [Fernandez]. We practiced that during the week, so I'm happy for him.'

Regarding the importance of participating in European competitions next season: 'Chelsea is a big club with great players, so we have to compete strongly. We must qualify for European competitions, whether it's the Champions League or the Europa League. We have to do our utmost for this club and its fans.'
