Erbil Club has resolved the controversy over the future of its goalkeeper Kamil Saadi, after announcing in an official statement that the player will continue with the team and will not transfer to any other club during the next season.

The statement confirmed that Saadi has given a promise to the club's management to stay, emphasizing that he will only represent Erbil in the upcoming season, despite the multiple local offers he has recently received from rival clubs.

Erbil held onto its main goalkeeper after the consistent performance he delivered during the current season. Saadi played 26 matches with the team, successfully keeping a clean sheet on 11 occasions, a figure that reflects his significant role in the stability of the defensive line.

The remarkable performance made the goalkeeper one of the standout names in his position locally, and opened the door for him to be included in the Iraqi national team roster that faced Bolivia in the intercontinental playoff qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
