Omar Gaber: Our Goal is to Achieve a Positive Result in the First Leg Before the Return Match in Cairo
Omar Gaber, the captain of the Zamalek team, confirmed that their goal is to achieve a positive result against USM Alger in the first leg of the Confederation Cup final tomorrow.
Zamalek will face USM Alger tomorrow, Saturday, at the July 5 Stadium in Algeria in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final.
Omar Gaber said in the press conference before the match: "Everyone is looking forward to the Confederation Cup final, and Zamalek is fortunate to play the semi-final in Algeria as well. The match against USM Alger in the Confederation Cup final has many considerations, and our goal is to achieve a positive result in the first leg before playing the return match in Cairo."
He added: "USM Alger is a strong and respectable competitor, and reaching the final is not a coincidence as they play modern football. We have closely followed the opponent, and they have distinguished players. However, Zamalek enters any tournament to win the title, and playing the second leg at our home ground gives us a good advantage."
He continued: "I meet with the team players in sessions to talk about the Confederation Cup and the league, and we separate the two tournaments. Our focus is currently on the Confederation Cup, and afterwards, we will concentrate on the league."
He concluded: "The July 5 Stadium is good, and Zamalek is accustomed to the pressure from the crowd. The match is important for the current generation to achieve a continental title to add to our record."
