Kompany: We will be ready for penalty shootouts, and this is my response to Arteta

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany spoke to the media ahead of the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain, noting that the first leg ended with a 5-4 victory for the Parisian team.

The coach said about the team's condition: "Serge Gnabry is out of the lineup, all other players are present and ready, which is important and makes a big difference compared to last season, where we suffered a lot of bad luck due to injuries."

He added about the match: "It always depends on the two teams. If one decides to retreat and defend more, we might witness quiet periods; otherwise, that won't happen. It's hard to imagine any team changing the style that got them here. We are playing at home, we want to win, and we will give everything we have to achieve that."

Regarding the fans: "There is a good relationship between the team and its fans. At the beginning of the season, not many believed we would reach this stage, but now we are here and have experienced special moments. I believe the fans trust in our ability to achieve this, and we want it to be an unforgettable night."

Regarding conceding 11 goals in 3 matches: "Our mission is to win games. We have ideas that we believe help us achieve that, and we have proven our ability to win many matches, as has Paris Saint-Germain. Ultimately, you have to score more goals than your opponent, and if you can win without conceding any goals, that's the best."

Regarding the unveiling of the new jersey for the upcoming season: "We are used to it; every year we get a new kit during the Oktoberfest. The most important thing is how we prepare for the match, as other matters do not affect us."

Regarding the possibility of going to penalty shootouts: "Of course, we have a list and order of penalty takers, but we won't force any player to take a shot if they're not ready. We discussed this matter three months ago before the cup matches, and it's part of our training in the second half of the season, so it won't be random if we reach that stage."

Regarding Arteta's comments that Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain benefit from playing in less intense leagues than the Premier League: "I prefer not to comment. I played for many years in the English league, and I don't think it was a criticism of Bayern or Paris Saint-Germain, but just a discussion. In England, there are 38 league matches along with domestic cups and no winter break, which is a topic Jurgen Klopp has discussed a lot."

Regarding the strength of Paris Saint-Germain: "I don't like ranking competitors, but it is one of the strongest teams in Europe in recent years, having won the Champions League. It possesses high quality and an excellent technical staff, and the average age of the team aids in continuous development. We respect them a lot and it's difficult to face them, but we also believe in our ability to win."

Regarding the trio Laimer, Davies, and Stanisic: "The three have proven their ability to compete at this level and are important. Each of them has different characteristics. Laimer gives us strength and momentum, Stanisic is distinguished with the ball and makes good defensive decisions, and Davies has great speed and skills in one-on-one situations. We are happy to have them, and we will see who will start the match."

He concluded about the importance of the match: "I won't have any trouble sleeping. So far, I don't feel any pressure. I do my job and sleep normally."
