Consultations on Canceling Relegation in the Current Season
The media personality Khaled Al-Ghandour confirmed that there are discussions within the Football Association regarding the cancellation of relegation in the league again for the current season.
Al-Ghandour said on his program "Stad Al-Mehwar": "The current proposal is to cancel relegation and play a new season with 24 teams divided into two groups, each consisting of 12 teams. The first and second from each group would qualify for a golden square, and the last three clubs from each group would be relegated."
He continued: "Consultations were held with several Premier League clubs regarding this proposal and their stance, whether in agreement or opposition. Additionally, some clubs threatened with relegation have been informed of the current proposal."
He concluded: "If the proposal is approved, its main condition will be that the current season will be the last one without relegation, and in the next season, there will be relegation even if it involves top clubs or any other popular club."
