CAF Appoints Dahan Bida to Officiate Confederation Cup Final First Leg Between Zamalek and USM Alger
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the appointment of Mauritanian referee Dahane Beida to officiate the match between Zamalek and Algerian club USM Alger in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final.
The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 9th, in a strong encounter between the two teams for the continental championship title.
Dahan Bida leads the refereeing team, assisted by Angolan Gerson Dos Santos as the first assistant, and Cameroonian Elvis Ngue as the second assistant, while Mauritanian Abdel Aziz Bouh serves as the fourth official.
In the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, Ghanaian Daniel Laryea has been appointed as the video referee, assisted by Kenyan Dickens Mimisa Nyagurua.
Dahan Beda is considered one of the most prominent referees in the African continent, having been selected among the referees participating in the 2026 World Cup, alongside several Arab referees, including the Egyptian referee Amin Omar.
The Mauritanian referee had previously officiated the match between Pyramids and the Royal Army in the quarter-finals of the current edition of the CAF Champions League.
Zamalek qualified for the Confederation Cup final after overcoming Algeria's CR Belouizdad, winning the first leg 1-0 before drawing 0-0 in the second leg.
