Moutamed Gamal, the coach of Zamalek, spoke about the defeat his team suffered this Friday evening against Al Ahly.

Zamalek lost to Al Ahly with a score of 3-0 in the derby match held at Cairo International Stadium in the fifth round of the title-deciding stage of the Egyptian Premier League.

In the press conference following the match, Moatamed Gamal stated that individual mistakes led to the defeat despite a good start and relative control by Zamalek. He pointed out that these lapses cost the team two goals, despite having relative control over the game at certain periods.

He pointed out that the team continued its good performance at the start of the second half, but missed the chance to narrow the gap after failing to convert a penalty, which affected the course of the match.

Jamal confirmed that he feels sad for the White Knight fans who were hoping for a positive result.

He also confirmed that Hossam Abdel Mageed is the first choice for taking penalty kicks, but luck was not on his side in this match, adding that winning the summit would not have decisively determined the league title.

He concluded that Zamalek will quickly overcome the effects of the defeat and will fight to secure the Egyptian Premier League title.
