Hazem Emam: Mistakes Led to Zamalek's Loss to Al Ahly
Hazem Emam, the former Zamalek star, confirmed that defensive errors by the White team were the reason for the heavy defeat against Al Ahly.
Zamalek lost to its traditional rival Al Ahly with a clean 3-0 score in the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League title decider stage.
Hazem Emam said in statements on On Sport channel: "Both teams were initially afraid, but after the first goal, Zamalek became tense. Hossam Abdelmaguid made mistakes in the match throughout the entire season, and he should not have taken the penalty kick."
He continued: "Al Ahly deserved the win and capitalized on the mistakes. Nasser Mansi had the ball but did not take advantage of Al Ahly's error."
He concluded: "Al Ahly exploited every gap, and the defensive errors were what finished off Zamalek in the match. Mohamed Ismail and Bentayg were the best, and Mohamed Shehata also ran a lot, as did El-Wensh, while the rest did not contribute anything."
