Barcelona's Stance on Replacing Casado's Departure
Thursday 30-04-2026
The Spanish newspaper "Sport" revealed Barcelona's stance on the midfield issue during the upcoming summer transfer window, amid talks of potential changes within the team.

According to the report, the young player Marc Casado has been linked with the possibility of leaving the team, after being excluded from coach Hans Flick's plans and not being relied upon as a key player recently.

The source indicated that if Casado leaves during the upcoming transfer window, Barcelona does not plan to sign a new midfielder to replace him.

The newspaper concluded that the Catalan club is considering the option of promoting the young player Tommy Marquez to the first team, as part of a policy to support emerging talents and give them greater opportunities to participate with the first team.

It is noted that Casado, who is 22 years old, has played 31 matches in all competitions this season and has provided one assist. His contract expires in the summer of 2028.
