Inter Approaches Signing Vicario
Thursday 30-04-2026
Italian press reports have revealed that Inter Milan has reached a preliminary agreement with Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, a Tottenham player, regarding personal terms in preparation for his transfer during the upcoming transfer window.

Inter's move comes as part of its efforts to strengthen the goalkeeper position by the end of the 2025-2026 season, especially with the Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer's contract nearing its end in June next year, and the uncertainty surrounding the renewal of his contract given his advancing age.

According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport," the agreement between Inter and Vicario's camp includes the contract duration and salary, without disclosing financial details, pending a final agreement between the two clubs.

The first obstacle lies in the negotiations with Tottenham, as the English club is demanding an amount between 15 and 20 million euros to agree to the goalkeeper's departure, which has not been settled yet.

Tottenham's stance on the deal may change depending on the team's results in the remaining rounds of the season, especially as they are currently in the relegation zone, just two points away from safety. This might prompt them to reassess their decisions in the event of relegation.

The second obstacle concerns the future of Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martinez at Inter, as the player is seeking a starting opportunity after performing well during the periods he participated.

Despite Inter's management being convinced of Martinez's potential, the player's desire for regular playtime might drive him to leave, placing the club in a complex situation regarding the goalkeeping position for the upcoming season.
