Media reports have revealed several obstacles complicating FC Barcelona's plans to part ways with their Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo in the near future.

According to the "Fichajes" website, Araujo was until recently one of the pillars of Barcelona's project, before his role significantly diminished in recent months, making him unlikely to be part of the plans for the next season.

The report indicated that the player's situation has become one of the most sensitive issues within the Catalan club, especially since his departure has become more complicated than initially expected.

The main obstacles are the new contract that Araujo recently signed with Barcelona until June 2031, in addition to his high salary, which makes it difficult for suitable offers to come in for his acquisition.

Currently, the player will face a choice between staying with the team in a secondary role with fewer playing minutes or seeking an exit on his own, which may require him to accept a salary reduction to leave.
