The French newspaper "L'Équipe" revealed that Paris Saint-Germain has opened the door for the departure of its Brazilian defender Marquinhos during the upcoming summer transfer window, despite him being under contract until the end of the 2028 season.

The newspaper clarified that Marquinhos expressed his desire to take on a new challenge in the upcoming season, which led the Paris Saint-Germain management to not oppose the idea of his departure, while continuously monitoring his situation.

The report indicated that the player, who is the team captain, had considered his future last year before deciding to continue with the Parisian club after winning the Champions League.

However, the club's management, in anticipation of all scenarios, has begun exploring alternative options in the transfer market to identify names capable of replacing him in the center-back position.

Marquinhos joined Paris Saint-Germain in the 2013 season coming from AS Roma, and he continues his career with the team to this day.

Paris Saint-Germain is competing in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals this season against Bayern Munich.
