Rossignol: We Were Not Efficient Enough, and We Must Hold Together After Setbacks
Liam Rosenior, the head coach of Chelsea, spoke about the reasons behind his team's 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the 32nd round of the English Premier League.
Rosenior said, "We weren't efficient enough, and we didn't start the match well, especially in the second half."
He added, "We had opportunities to clear the ball from the penalty area, but Manchester City imposed their control over our half in the first five minutes, and then we conceded the goal."
He continued: "This scenario has been repeated since last month regarding dealing with setbacks. When facing strong teams, you must maintain cohesion in the following minutes."
He continued: "The second half was extremely difficult, and there was a clear lack of confidence. We need to improve because we are currently going through a tough situation."
He continued: "We must not forget that we faced a team at the peak of its form and competing for the title, but we need to win such matches, and that's why I'm here."
He continued: "When we make these mistakes, the course of the match changes, so we need to be better at handling these moments if we want to achieve victories."
He concluded his remarks by saying: "This is not an excuse for the second-half performance, but had Marc Cucurella's chance been scored, the morale would have been lifted. Nevertheless, we need to be more resilient in facing setbacks. Even if we fall behind in the score, we must maintain our presence in the game, and this is what disappoints me the most."
