Borussia Dortmund announced on its official website the extension of its player Nico Schlotterbeck's contract until 2031, after he officially signed the new contract today, Friday, at the club's headquarters.

The club confirmed that the 26-year-old German defender will continue his long-term journey with the team, as part of the plans for stability and development within the club in the coming years.

Carsten Cramer, the spokesperson for the executive management, said on the club's official website: "Extending Schlotterbeck's contract is extremely important; he is a highly valuable player and feels like part of a clear project we are building at the club."

For his part, Schlotterbeck expressed his happiness at extending his contract with Borussia Dortmund, affirming that his goal is to win titles with the team, after being convinced by the sports project the club presented to him.
