Enrique: Surprised to See Liverpool Play This Way, We Want to Win the Return Leg
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke in a press conference following the 2-0 victory over Liverpool in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at the Parc des Princes.
The coach said in his statement: "This is unfortunate, clearly. We played a match worthy of our fans."
He explained: "We played very well and should have scored more goals. But this is the Champions League. We are happy. There is still the return leg."
He continued: "It's surprising to see Liverpool playing this way; they are in a phase of change. We are used to opponents adapting to us."
He concluded about the return match: "Regardless of the stadium or the match, Paris Saint-Germain aims to win the game. It's a special stadium, but we are happy with what we achieved today."
