Napoli has shown clear flexibility regarding the future of its coach Antonio Conte, after the club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed that he would not stand in his way if he decided to take over coaching the Italian national team in the coming period, given the technical void the 'Azzurri' is experiencing.

This development came after coach Gennaro Gattuso resigned from his position following the national team's failure to qualify for the World Cup for the third consecutive time, which also caused a crisis within the Italian federation and the resignation of its president, opening the door to the search for a new coach to restore stability.

Conte, who previously coached the Italian national team from 2014 to 2016, is considered one of the top candidates for a return, and he has also shown openness to the idea, but he emphasized that any decision will be postponed until the end of the season, where he will meet with Napoli's management to finalize his future.

For his part, De Laurentiis explained that he respects his coach's ambitions, confirming that he will agree to his departure if requested, but he also pointed out that the instability within the Italian federation might affect the final decision, especially with the expectation of electing a new president in June before deciding on the identity of the next coach.
