Special Clause in Conceição's Contract with Al-Ittihad
Monday 06-04-2026
A media report revealed the existence of an exceptional clause in the contract of Portuguese coach Sergio Conceição with Al-Ittihad Club, which has sparked much debate in sports circles.

This clause was introduced as a precautionary measure by the club's management, aiming to avoid any potential conflict between the coach and some foreign players within the team.

According to reports, the agreement requires Conceição to avoid conflicts with French players, most notably the star Karim Benzema, as they are considered influential elements in the lineup.

This approach stems from the coach's personality, known for being firm and intense, which was evident in his previous experiences. This prompted the management to establish clear guidelines from the outset.

Conceição took over the leadership of Al-Ittihad last October, succeeding the Frenchman Laurent Blanc, with the hope of bringing the team back to the path of victories.

During his tenure, the coach led 32 matches, achieving 17 wins, 6 draws, and 9 losses, amidst fluctuating performance and results.

The team's chances of competing for the league title have diminished, alongside their exit from the King's Cup, which has increased uncertainty about the coach's future with the team.

In a related context, the Union is preparing to face Neom in the upcoming round of the Roshan League, aiming to improve its position in the standings.

The team is in sixth place with 45 points and hopes to achieve positive results in the remainder of the season.
