Friday 03-04-2026
Portuguese coach Sergio Conceicao, the manager of Al-Ittihad, confirmed that the match against Al-Hazm was not easy, despite the numerous opportunities his team had. He emphasized that the result could have been greater.

Conceição said during the press conference: "The match was tough, and we could have scored 3 or 4 goals in the first half, but in the second half, the players showed great belief in victory despite being outnumbered."

He added: "The past period was not easy, especially after being knocked out of the cup, but we made up for it with spirit. We consider what has passed as one season, and what is coming as a different season. Our ambition is clear, which is to win the AFC Champions League."

The Al-Ittihad coach continued: "We want the stadium to be filled with fans and for us to be united, because the support of the crowd makes a difference."

Regarding the repeated expulsions, he explained: "I don't want us to play with a numerical disadvantage, and I am against violent interventions. We want to play with strength and spirit, but sometimes pressure and criticism affect the players."

He also commented on the inclusion of club legends like Mohammed Noor and Hamad Al-Montashari, saying: "I welcome that with open arms, as they are club legends and provide the players with great motivation."

Conceição concluded his remarks by emphasizing his continuous monitoring of the under-21 team, noting that his selections for matches depend on the players' readiness during training throughout the week.
