Speculation has risen about the future of the Argentine star Enzo Fernandez with Chelsea, following recent statements made by his agent Javier Pastore regarding the next phase in the player's career with the London team.

Pastore said in a press statement: "Our plan after the World Cup is to meet with Chelsea again, and considering what Enzo can do today, he deserves much more than what he is currently earning...".

He added: "We were unable to reach an agreement on a new deal with Chelsea, as Enzo's contract is still valid for six years, we decided not to renew it because the terms were not suitable for us or the player."

He concluded: "If an agreement on signing a new contract is not reached, other options will be explored..".

These developments come after Chelsea's management decided to suspend Enzo Fernandez for two matches, following his recent statements that sparked widespread controversy about his future, after he hinted at his desire to live in Madrid, confirming that he would talk to the club after the World Cup to finalize his position.

Fernandez said after Chelsea's defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League: "I don't know, there are eight games left and the FA Cup, then comes the World Cup, and after that, we will see."
