Al-Ittihad Club announced updates on the health condition of its player, Mahamoudou Doumbia, following the severe injury he recently sustained, which sidelined him during the crucial stage of the season.

The club confirmed, through an official statement, that the Malian midfielder underwent a successful surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee, under the supervision of Dr. Bertrand Cottet.

The statement clarified that the surgery was performed in the city of Lyon, France, where the player will be staying during the initial phase of his treatment and rehabilitation program.

Dombia is expected to begin the rehabilitation phase with a medical program initially lasting two weeks in Lyon, under the supervision of the specialized medical staff.

The player sustained an injury during the match against Al-Khulood in the semi-finals of the King's Cup, which ended with Al-Ittihad losing in a penalty shootout on March 18th.

This injury is considered a significant blow to the team, given the importance of Doumbia in the plans of the Portuguese coach Sérgio Conceição for the current season.

Dumbia participated in 24 matches with Al-Ittihad across various competitions, during which he managed to score two goals and assist in six others, reflecting his active role within the team.
