Amr Zaki: Zizo is Uncomfortable at Al Ahly and Mohamed Salah is Irreplaceable
Sunday 29-03-2026
The former Egyptian football star Amr Zaki sparked widespread controversy with his television statements, during which he spoke about the level of Ahmed Sayed Zizo, asserting that the player does not feel comfortable within the ranks of Al Ahly, which affects his performance compared to what he delivers with the national team.

Zaki pointed out that Zizo was the standout star at Zamalek after Mahmoud Abdel-Razek Shikabala, but his move to a team with a large number of stars subjected him to different pressures, which affected his performance. He emphasized that Zizo performs better with the Egyptian national team.

Zaki praised the Al-Ahly players, considering them the core of the national team, and noted that they delivered a strong performance in the recent match against Saudi Arabia, which saw a revival of spirit within the team.

In another context, he spoke about the inclusion of Haitham Hassan, confirming that he is a distinguished player, but he pointed out the difficulty of replacing Mohamed Salah, explaining that the latter represents a significant value on the field and cannot be easily replaced.

Zaki concluded his statements by revealing some behind-the-scenes details of his career, noting that he received offers to play professionally from English clubs, along with repeated attempts by Al Ahly to sign him during his youth stages through prominent figures such as Mahmoud El Khatib, Mohamed Youssef, and Adly El-Keiy, but he preferred to continue with Zamalek.
