Hossam Hassan, the head coach of Egypt's national football team, confirmed that the friendly match against Saudi Arabia represents an important experience for the team before participating in the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Hossam Hassan said during the press conference for the match that the Egyptian national team is happy to be in Saudi Arabia and seeks to benefit from facing a team with great experience in Asia and the Arab world. He emphasized his keenness to deliver a strong performance that would please the fans and provide technical benefits before the World Cup.

The head coach added that the match is important for both sides, noting the strength of the two teams on both the continental and global levels. He emphasized that the main goal is to make the most out of the experience, especially with the crowd pressure that will accompany the game at King Fahd International Stadium.

Hassan pointed out the joining of player Omar Marmoush to the camp and his participation in the first group training, confirming that the team will continue its journey after the match against Saudi Arabia to face the Spanish national team, which includes a group of the world's top football stars.

The Saudi national team is scheduled to host its Egyptian counterpart on Friday, March 27, at King Fahd International Stadium in a friendly match starting at 7:30 PM Cairo time, and 8:30 PM Mecca time, as part of the teams' preparations for the World Cup finals.
