Ben White Returns to England Squad After Absence Since 2022
Monday 23-03-2026
Arsenal defender Ben White has returned to the England squad for the first time since his participation in the 2022 World Cup.

The player had been absent from the team since leaving the tournament camp for personal reasons and later requested not to be called up during the tenure of former coach Gareth Southgate.

White's return came as part of coach Thomas Tuchel's squad in preparation for the friendly matches against Uruguay and Japan, following the withdrawal of Jarell Quansah due to injury.

White has only four international appearances, with his last appearance against Ivory Coast in 2022.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid defender Trent Alexander-Arnold continued to be absent from the squad.

The squad also saw the absence of Arsenal player Eberechi Eze, who left the camp and was replaced by Newcastle United winger Harvey Barnes.

England is set to host Uruguay at Wembley Stadium before facing Japan later this month as part of their preparations for upcoming commitments.
