Chelsea has reconsidered its stance on the future of midfielder Andrey Santos, amid increasing interest from Inter Milan in signing him in the upcoming period.

The London club had held onto the player during the last transfer window, rejecting a substantial offer of 50 million euros from a Saudi club, as they considered him part of their first team plans, before circumstances later changed.

This season, Santos has had limited participation, having started only 13 matches in the Premier League and the Champions League, without managing to score any goals for the team so far.

The 21-year-old Brazilian player joined Chelsea from Vasco da Gama in 2023, before having a successful loan spell with Strasbourg.

During his participation in the French league, Santos delivered remarkable performances, scoring 11 goals in 34 matches under the leadership of coach Liam Rosenior.

The player began his season in the English Premier League as a substitute under former coach Enzo Maresca, before getting more opportunities in the recent matches.

Nevertheless, Santos is still behind Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in the selection order, which might lead him to consider seeking a new experience outside of England.

Inter Milan emerges as one of the most interested parties in signing the player, as the Italian club seeks to strengthen its midfield with physically strong players, under the leadership of their coach Simone Inzaghi, who employs a playing style that might suit the player's abilities.

It is not ruled out that Chelsea might agree to sell Santos if they receive a substantial financial offer, despite the technical appreciation he enjoys from the coaching staff.

The team coach emphasized that the player plays important roles on the field, even though they may not be apparent to everyone, noting his ability to enhance his teammates' performance thanks to his movements, precise passes, and team spirit.
