Detention of Esperance and Royal Army Fans in Cairo After Clashes
The Egyptian authorities detained a number of fans from Tunisia's Esperance and Morocco's Royal Army following clashes and skirmishes that occurred on Friday evening in the Gamaleya area in central Cairo.
According to the available information, 7 fans of Espérance were detained, along with a number of Royal Army supporters, and their passports were confiscated pending the completion of the necessary legal procedures.
The relevant authorities have also initiated communications with representatives of the Tunisian embassy in Cairo to assess the situation of the detainees and take the necessary steps in this regard.
