Iraq Coach Suggests Postponing World Cup Playoff Match
The coach of the Iraqi national team, Graham Arnold, explained in statements to the Australian news agency (AAP) that postponing the playoff match qualifying for the World Cup might be the best solution due to the current circumstances.
Arnold pointed out that the postponement scenario could involve holding the match between the Bolivian team and the Surinamese team this month, with the Iraqi team meeting the winner just one week before the World Cup kicks off on American soil.
He explained that the winner of this match will continue their journey in the competition in optimal readiness, while the loser will return to their country, in a proposal aimed at adapting to current conditions and achieving the best possible preparation.
It is worth mentioning that the current war conditions in the Middle East may not allow the Iraqi national team to travel to play the match scheduled for the end of this month.
