The technical committee at Al-Ittihad Club proposed extending the contract of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho Tavares for an additional season, in a move aimed at retaining his services with the team in the upcoming phase.

This recommendation came as part of a technical plan similar to what happened with player Danilo Pereira, as the club's management seeks to retain some experienced elements within the team lineup.

Press reports indicated that the coaching staff sees the potential to utilize Fabinho in more than one position on the field, as he can play in the defensive midfield and can also be deployed as a central defender when needed.

Despite an initial desire to extend the player's contract, the technical committee agreed with the club officials to postpone the final decision on the renewal to a later point in the season.

The purpose of this postponement is to give the management a greater opportunity to comprehensively assess the player's technical performance before making a decisive decision regarding his future with the team.

Fabinho entered the free agency period of his contract last January, which gives him the right to negotiate and sign with any other club without consulting the management of Al-Ittihad.

The contract of the Brazilian midfielder with the club is set to expire in June, coinciding with the end of the current football season.

In another context, Al-Ittihad is preparing for a new match against Al-Riyadh next Friday evening, as part of the 26th round of the Saudi Professional League's Roshen Championship.
