The International Sports Court Confirms Al Ahly's Right to the League Title and Rejects Pyramids' Appeal
Tuesday 03-03-2026
Al Ahly announced on Tuesday evening that the International Court of Arbitration for Sport has issued a decision affirming its full right to be crowned champions of the Egyptian Premier League for the past season, rejecting the appeal submitted by Pyramids.

Al-Ahly had secured the league title with a two-point lead over Pyramids, before the latter filed an appeal claiming the right to deduct an additional three points from the Red team's tally due to the summit match crisis.

Al Ahly clarified, through its official account on the "X" platform, that the International Court of Arbitration for Sport definitively rejected Pyramids' appeal and confirmed the team's rightful championship win, thereby officially closing the dispute case.

The crisis stems from Al Ahly's decision to withdraw from facing Zamalek in the second round of last season, in protest against the failure to bring in foreign referees.

At that time, the club association decided to deduct three points in addition to the match points, but later reversed this decision, citing the "force majeure" clause due to insufficient time to bring in a foreign refereeing team between the draw date and the match.
