President of Al-Ittihad Alexandria: Al-Ahly Did Not Request Any Financial Compensation for Afsha's Loan
Saturday 28-02-2026
Mohamed Ahmed Salama, the president of Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club, confirmed that Al-Ahly Club refused to receive any financial compensation in exchange for loaning the player Mohamed Magdy Afsha.

Mohamed Ahmed Salama said on the "Stars in Ramadan" program on "Youth and Sports" radio: "The Afsha deal did not cause any problems in the locker room at Al-Ittihad. All the players receive the same. The only difference is that Al-Ahly refused to take a fee for Afsha's loan and requested that this fee be given to the player in appreciation of his role with the Red Castle."

He added: "The new signings at Al-Ittihad Alexandria have changed the team's form and restored confidence in the locker room, which had been shaken due to the decline in results. I have a strong relationship with all the new signings, and they noticed that I was consistent during negotiations."

He also said: "No one can imagine Al-Ittihad Alexandria not being in the Premier League, and that's why we signed strong deals in January to save the situation. I hope to buy Afsha and Abdel Rahman Magdy permanently after the loan ends. All the players who came in January are a strong addition to the Leader of the North, and all the deals were made in consultation with Tamer Mostafa and Abdel Zaher El-Sakka, with all their great expertise."

He spoke about Mahmoud Kahraba's refusal to join Al-Ittihad, saying: "I have a strong relationship with Kahraba, and he feels that he doesn't want the pressure from fans at the moment, which is why he refused to join Al-Ittihad Alexandria. I congratulated Kahraba on his move to Enppi. He believes that Enppi is suitable for him right now, and I hope he delivers an outstanding performance as usual because he is a great player."
