Friday 27-02-2026
Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, commented on the impact of fasting on some Muslim players during the month of Ramadan, in addition to the recent Champions League draw and his team's upcoming match against Leeds United.

Guardiola said: "I love many English stadiums, I love Fulham's stadium, Watford's stadium, and Goodison Park. Coming from another country to these historic stadiums, I was naturally impressed. The new stadiums are beautiful."

The head coach continued his discussion about the players' readiness: "Jeremy Doku had his first training session yesterday, and I don't know if he will be available for tomorrow's match against Leeds or not, but we will talk with the doctors and officials later."

Regarding facing Real Madrid in the Champions League, Guardiola said: "For our club, every time we play against the best teams in the history of this competition, we learn, develop, and become better in the future, that's all."

Guardiola pointed out the impact of fasting on the Muslim players in the team, emphasizing the coaching staff's attention to handling this period: "They follow these religious traditions, and of course, we have good nutritionists who adapt to what the team needs."

He added: "They are well taken care of, and they know how to handle these situations. They are not young; they have been accustomed to playing for many years during this period."
