The player fell to the ground following an aerial collision with his teammate Eduardo Camavinga, which necessitated a quick intervention from the medical staff, after it was clear that he was unable to get up due to the injury.

Asensio left the field in the 76th minute on a stretcher, with a bandage around his neck, amid great concern on the faces of Real Madrid players who closely followed his medical assistance.
