Endrick.. From the Peak to the Bottom
Saturday 11-04-2026
The Brazilian star Endrick is experiencing one of the toughest periods since joining Olympique Lyon, having moved there on loan from Real Madrid last January until the end of the current season.

The start was perfect by all standards, as the Brazilian striker quickly captured attention and established himself as one of the team's standout stars. This earned him widespread praise from the press and media after his impressive performance in his debut matches for Lyon, where he scored 6 goals and assisted 5 others in his first 6 games.

However, this brilliance did not last long, as the player's performance levels have noticeably declined in recent weeks, managing to score only one goal in the last 9 matches. This has raised many questions about the reasons behind this sudden drop in performance.

In this context, Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca did not hide his dissatisfaction with the player's performance, stating: "I am not satisfied with his performance. He told me he was a bit tired from the national team trip, but he needs to put in more effort. I am not here to criticize players, but I expect more from him. He has a duty to perform better, as we need him."

He added, "Today, we rely on a player like Afonso Moreira, who was in the Portuguese third division a year ago, and now he is taking on responsibility. If Afonso shows such courage, others should follow his example."

The coach concluded his remarks with a direct message to Endrick: "He needs to be more effective. He stayed in his defensive zone and did not try to position himself between the lines to provide additional options for the team. He needs to work harder."

The upcoming period will be crucial for the Brazilian star to regain the form he started with at Lyon and prove his ability to handle pressure and challenges.
