The Sfaxien club announced that its captain, Ali Maaloul, sustained a leg injury during the team's training on Sunday, which will keep him off the field for a temporary period.

The club clarified in an official statement that medical examinations revealed the player has a muscle strain, requiring a rest period of three weeks, during which he will undergo a treatment and rehabilitation program under the supervision of the medical staff.

As a result, Maaloul will miss the team's matches during the month of Ramadan against Moustakbal Gabes at the Taieb Mhiri Stadium, and then against US Monastir, as part of the Tunisian league competitions.

The medical team confirmed that the injury is not a cause for concern, but granting the player a full recovery period aims to avoid any complications that might affect his readiness in the upcoming phase.

This injury comes at a time when the team relies on the experience of its captain on the field, both in defense and in supporting the forward line.

It is noted that Ali Maaloul returned to the ranks of Sfaxien during the last summer transfer window, coming from Al Ahly, in a move that was widely welcomed by the club's fans.
