Six Players Out of Spalletti's Plans at Juventus
Italian press reports revealed that at least six players in the ranks of Juventus are not included in coach Luciano Spalletti's plans for the next season, should he continue leading the team after the summer transfer period.
According to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Spalletti has started outlining his project for the 2026/2027 season and has identified a list of names that do not align with his technical ideas, as part of his efforts to reshape the team to suit his style.
At the forefront of the players is Belgian Louis Openda, who failed to convince the technical staff, having participated for only 87 minutes during eight matches in 2026. Despite injuries to both Dusan Vlahovic and Jonathan David, the coach preferred to rely on Weston McKennie as a striker instead, reflecting his declining status within the team.
The newspaper also pointed out defender Juan Cabal's struggle to adapt to the style of play, especially concerning building attacks from the back, while Federico Gatti did not provide the expected contribution after participating as a substitute, making him likely to remain a backup option should Spalletti stay.
In the goalkeeper position, Michele Di Gregorio faced criticism after the team conceded 13 goals in the last four matches, while the presence of Adzic and Edon Zhegrova has declined in recent weeks.
It is noteworthy that Spalletti's contract with Juventus ends next June.
