Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga appeared at a press conference to discuss tomorrow's match against Benfica in the first leg of the playoff qualifying for the Champions League round of 16, at the "Da Luz" stadium.

The French star said in his interview: "First, we need to play well as a team. We should approach the match like any other, without changing our routine. The most important thing is to be united, attack and defend together, and then things will go well."

He added, "Does the team need a playmaker? A journalist asked me for my opinion, and I answered that I don't think we need one. We have players with these qualities, and there are many good players on the team."

He continued: "What needs to change from the previous match against Benfica? The mentality is the most important. We are better now in this aspect, and we must attack and defend together. We want to deliver a great match because the last game was tough on our fans, and we aim to win with a different spirit."

He added: "Arbeloa said a few days ago that he has a gray couch for discussions with the players... What do those conversations look like? Oh, yes, yes, I've been in that situation many times with Xavi and Arbeloa. It's like going to your manager's office. He's a coach who likes to talk with the players, while Xavi preferred to talk more on the field... although the same now applies to Arbeloa."

He continued: "Have Real Madrid fans seen the best version of me? No, I believe I can offer more. I still have a lot to give, and the fans haven't seen all my capabilities yet. I'm proud of what I've achieved so far, but I aspire for more. My family is proud of me, and that gives me the motivation to continue and develop."

He said, "Can you be a playmaker? Yes, I can take on this role. I know my abilities, and I can perform much better."

Regarding playing on the left side: "I have a good relationship with my teammates there, and I enjoy playing in this position. The most important thing is to serve the team, and if I'm asked to play in any position, I will."

Regarding his preferred position: "I prefer playing as a defensive midfielder. I just need more consistency and focus to avoid mistakes."

Regarding his relationship with Vinicius: "Our relationship is wonderful and very special. As friends, we always tell each other the truth, even if it's harsh. I am very happy with what he is offering."

He concluded regarding the criticisms he faced from France: "Criticism is part of a football player's job. Even when you perform well, you will face criticism. That's why I focus only on my work and consider criticism as an additional motivation for development and improvement."
