Liverpool Faces Difficulty in Signing Mohamed Salah's Replacement
Monday 16-02-2026
Liverpool received a major shock in its plans to replace Mohamed Salah, after sources from 'TEAMtalk' reported that Bayern Munich is preparing to prevent any possibility of French winger Michael Olise returning to the English Premier League this summer.

Liverpool considers Olise to be the closest thing to an ideal successor to Salah, thanks to his creativity, scoring efficiency, and tactical understanding, making him the top name on the list of candidates to replace the Egyptian star. However, the desire to sign him does not mean the deal can be achieved, especially with the player not in a hurry to return to England after his previous experience with Crystal Palace.

Since his move to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024, Olise has become one of the best wingers in Europe, scoring 21 goals and providing 39 assists, earning him a distinguished status in the Bundesliga and confirming his superior attacking capabilities. Bayern is preparing to discuss a new contract with him despite his current contract running until 2029, in a move to protect their star and prevent any clubs from signing him.

Liverpool continues to search for alternatives to replace Salah in the future, with names like Yan Diomande, Nico Williams, Dowie, Bradley Barcola on the list, but Olise remains the preferred choice for building the next attacking phase.

Despite the interest from clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal in Olise, a return to the Premier League is not currently considered, and the player shows a future desire to play in Spain, with Real Madrid and Barcelona following his career. However, Bayern currently controls his situation, making Liverpool's dream of signing Salah's successor unattainable.

Next summer remains the last opportunity for Liverpool to achieve a significant financial return from Salah's departure, with continued interest from Saudi league clubs in attracting the Egyptian star, as his contract nears its end.
