Sunday 15-02-2026
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois spoke to the press following the 4-1 victory over Sociedad in the 24th round of the Spanish League, in the match held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The Belgian goalkeeper said in his interview: "The feelings are very good, we played a great match. The game saw some chaos at the end, but we delivered an outstanding performance. I am confident in our ability to beat Benfica."

He added regarding Trent Arnold and his performance: "We are pleased with the return of injured players like Rudiger, Carvajal, and Trent. Fede performed excellently in the full-back position and also helps us in midfield. Trent, in his position, helps us a lot. He made some great passes, like the one for the first goal. Let's hope everyone returns, and we don't have to change players' positions."

Regarding reaching 150 victories with Real Madrid: "It's amazing. I didn't expect it when they told me. These are special numbers, and winning adds more sweetness to it. We need to achieve more victories to compete for everything."

He concluded about facing Benfica: "This wasn't what we wanted (playing the playoff), but this is what happened. We have to play against a great team. We need to learn from that defeat. Thanks to the fighting spirit and desire we showed today, we are confident of achieving a great result. They will want to take advantage of the opportunity on their home ground, and we need to stay cohesive."
