USM Alger Tops Its Group in the Confederation Cup

The USM Alger team finished the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup at the top of Group A with 14 points, following a goalless draw against Olympique Safi in the match held at the July 5th Olympic Stadium on Saturday evening, for the sixth and final round.

Despite the match ending in a goalless draw, Al-Ittihad entered the game with ease, having already secured its qualification to the quarter-finals. This was due to a strong performance in the group stage, where the team demonstrated its continental experience and ability to handle crucial matches effectively.

The champion of the 2023 edition of the CAF Confederation Cup made a remarkable impression, having secured home and away victories over San Pedro, as well as an important win against Djoliba at home, before returning with a valuable draw away against the same opponent.

He also previously excelled away against Olympique Safi, which strengthened his position at the top and secured him finishing the first stage in first place with 14 points.

This qualification affirms the prestigious continental status of USM Alger in recent years, especially after winning the Confederation Cup in 2023, along with the African Super Cup, making it one of the leading contenders to confidently advance to the later stages.
