Bayern Munich Reassures Fans About Neuer's Condition After Forced Substitution
Saturday 14-02-2026
Vincent Kompany, the head coach of the German club Bayern Munich, reassured the Bavarian club's fans about the health condition of the team's captain and veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. This came after Neuer was unexpectedly substituted during the halftime break in the team's recent match against Werder Bremen in the "Bundesliga" competition.

In statements made to "Sky Sports" following the match, Kompany confirmed that Neuer's exit was not due to a serious injury, but rather as a precautionary measure.

Kompany said, "We don't believe it's serious. It was a precautionary measure because he felt something," indicating that the coaching staff preferred not to risk the main goalkeeper given the important upcoming commitments for the team.

Neuer left the field after feeling pain in his calf (the back muscle), and was replaced by substitute goalkeeper Jonas Urbig at the start of the second half. Meanwhile, Max Eberl, a member of the club's board of directors for sports affairs, confirmed that initial examinations indicate the injury is "not serious," pending the final assessment from the medical team.

It is noted that Bayern Munich managed to secure the match in their favor with a score of (3-0), continuing their successful journey at the top of the Bundesliga, relying on the readiness of their complete squad to compete on all fronts.
